VIXEN - REV IT UP ( 1990 )

Vixen surgiu para quebrar o tabu de que apenas homens faziam hard rock. O quarteto formado por Jan Kuehnemund nos anos 70 tinha outro nome, mas o que importa é que quando apareceram para valer, a banda se chamava Vixen e contava com Janet Gardner (vocais), Pia Koko (baixo), Tamara Ivanova (guitarras) e Laurie Hedlund (bateria). Essa formação não duraria muito pois Share Pedersen (baixo) e Roxy Petrucci (bateria) entrariam na banda. Roxy vinha da mesma banda de que Janet fazia parte, o Madam X (por onde passou também o vocalista Sebastian Bach). Neste período, Janet já era a responsável pela banda, a autêntica líder. O Vixen não demorou muito para conseguir gravar seu álbum, que foi lançado pela EMI, surpreendendo a crítica que torcia o nariz para a idéia de uma banda de hard feminina. A idéia não era vista com bons olhos por que a maioria das bandas como aquela (Runaways, Madam X) não haviam dado certo. Mas este Rev It Up é um álbum fantástico e que vale muito a pena ser conferido!!! Recomendadíssimo!!!!

Ready to Strike é o 1º álbum da banda King Kobra, na qual foi fundada pelo baterista Carmine Appice, após sua saída do Ozzy Osbourne. E ao fundar a banda seu objetivo era fazer dinheiro, então resolveu em compôr canções muito comerciais, fora que o visual da banda é bem exagerado, como eram as bandas de Glam da época. Mas ''Carmine ''eu não desisto'' Appice, como ele ficou conhecido, não conseguiu seu objetivo de fazer sucesso com o King Kobra, pois antes disso ele era um renomado baterista de jazz, blues e rock n roll, e todos ficaram chocados e assim o ignoraram ao pensar como ele poderia ter feito algo tão comercial assim, sem alma, apenas pela grana.

A partir daí o King Kobra foi ignorado, mesmo com suas canções poderosíssimas e as boas performances individuais dos integrantes, Appice ainda insistiu em ganhar dinheiro lançando mais álbuns do King Kobra mas falhou, e então o nome 'King Kobra' ficou com uma péssima imagem, a banda foi deixada de lado.

Mesmo com Mark Free nos vocais, a grande voz do AOR, ele deixou a banda futuramente pra seguir outros projetos e mais futuramente ele desiste da carreira musical, vira mulher (isso mesmo, vira mulher), passa a ser chamado (a) de Marcie Free e começa a trabalhar para o governo americano. E essa é mais uma das bandas mal-sucedidas e injustiçadas, rs.. é cada uma não é... mas o álbum é uma maravilha, confiram ! O link de download está lá embaixo perto dos comentários.

Primeiro e talvez mais conhecido play dessa banda de Hard rock Sueca. Formada em Ostersund em 1979, só conseguiu gravar esse debut em 1983, quando então saiu em turnê abrindo aos shows do Heavy Load pela Europa. Seu som é um Heavy Metal de fácil compreensão, muitas vezes tendendo ao Hard Rock (direcionamento esse confirmado após o lançamento de Mind Over Muscle em 1985) que vai agradar aos menos exigentes.
